Postdoc in supra-terahertz technology

The Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience - MC2 is a unique research department in the areas of micro- and nanotechnology, housing more than 200 researchers and PhD students. At the terahertz and millimeter wave division, main research activities are on technologies with applications ranging from basic science to future wireless sensors and communication systems. Today, terahertz technology is an indispensable tool for space science, with the hope of gaining fundamental knowledge of the origin of our universe, and for atmospheric science, which is directly related to the environmental challenge and climate change effects. The project is part of the GigaHertz Centre (GHz Centre), which is a joint research and innovation centre between Chalmers University of Technology and industrial partners (https://www.chalmers.se/en/centres/ghz/).

Major responsibilities
Your research will be directed towards developing Schottky diodes and circuits for terahertz applications (3 – 5 THz). The research also includes exploring new receiver and instrumentation concepts, mainly for atmosphere science applications. The work is in close collaboration with international partners. You are expected to develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally and in writing.
